This is the part where I write about me, right? Geez, that's tough! Let's see... I've lived in Greenfield for most of my life. I attended Greenfield-Central schools, which was where I met my incredibly devoted, supportive husband. We have a four year old son, who is the coolest little kid you'll ever meet. Chances are if you come to the studio very often, sooner or later you'll get to meet him, as he loves coming to work with me. Being able to bring him to the studio with me, show him what working this business entails, and encouraging his own love of art are some of the "bonuses" I adore about running this studio.
Art has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, and I’m thrilled to have a space where I can share my passion with others. In my personal work, I have a tendency to focus on pencil and ink drawing, acrylic painting, and pointed pen calligraphy. But let's be honest... I adore all art media! That's part of why I enjoy mixing up the types of events I offer at the studio. There's just so much out there we can learn about!
I graduated from Anderson University with a degree in Elementary Education. I've done artwork here and there all through school, but somehow let my art fizzle out for a while. A few years ago, I had the opportunity to start teaching a few painting classes, and I quickly remembered how good it felt to have a paint brush in my hand! I realized I couldn't let art fade away again.
I've never been much of a risk taker. I'm a worrier and typically play things safe. But beginning this studio just felt so right, and I knew that if I didn't take the leap, I'd regret it forever. So here I am! I'm able to combine my education degree with my passion for art, and I couldn't be more excited to create art with you! I'm incredibly thankful to be doing something I love. I mean, how many people get to live their dream like this?
Anyway, I'm glad you're here. If you've been to the studio before, I thank you so much for your support. If you haven't, I'd love to have you! Check out what events we have coming up and get on in here!
